About This Game The year is 2140. After numerous wars and several environmental disasters, only two world powers remain; the United Civilized States (»UCS«), covering the American continent, Western Europe and North Africa, and the Eurasian Dynasty (»ED«) covering the coherent landmasses of Eastern Europe and Asia. The damage caused by the long wars led both world powers to evacuate the population to recently built underground cities.Australia and most parts of Africa were sacrificed during the long wars, which lasted several decades. Highly toxic biological and chemical weapons were developed on these continents, leaving them so badly contaminated, that no human life can survive there. Not even the use of robots and machines is possible. The general opinion was that these continents would forever remain uninhabitable, and they were wiped from every map. The controls and engine hasn't aged well at all. Playing on a trackpad via Proton (for Linux compatibility) is a very broken experience.This version has the best intro and menus, unlike the GOG version. Someone said the AI is broken in this version, but I couldn't tell since I didn't make it far enough, and it could just be easy.. Great game. One of my favorite games. I mean great game when you have the old DOS version. Steam version is not working. Developers created HD version but totally destroyed AI. If you want to play Earth 2140 don't buy this new version but find the old DOS version and play that. AI is not working AT ALL. Your enemies are not building their bases or units. They are just waiting for you to come and destroy them. Even your generals (attack, defense) don't work. Developers do NOTHING about this situation and I think that this game should not be sold on Steam! If some developer will write something else I would not believe them (and you should not belive them either). I've bought this game 3 years ago and nothing changed. "DEVELOPERS" would have done better it they shared source code of this game with us instead of killing it. In that case I will fix AI by myself immediatelly.DON'T BUY THIS GAME!!!. I wont make this long and instead of review ill write short warning.Game is broken. How you ask?Enemy AI is missing. Enemy simply doesnt attack or build anything at all. As consequence each mission consist only of searching for idle units and destroying enemy base.And dont get your hopes up game wont be fixed because source code is gone forever.Worst part is false advertising from store page stating "UNPRECEDENTED AI".Final word, do not buy this and get dos version with working AI instead.
